The room was very nice. Felt more like being at home than at a hotel. Clean, crisp bedding. Large dresser, nice little computer desk and my own bathroom. The view overlooked Kennedy Park. It brought back a lot of memories for me. Seeing the locals enjoying one another’s company in the sun had me feeling some serious nostalgia. I cannot exemplify the way the staff worked with me to ensure a great experience. My bus arrived late at night and I forgot my phone on that bus!!! But the concierge was at the door within a few minutes. Aside from the initial interaction there was very little need to parley with them. This just added to that home away from home vibe. It was less than 10 minutes from the bus stop. The city’s park is right across the street. An amazing local bakery is only a few blocks away. Library two blocks, grocery store 5 minute drive…it is really right in the middle of everything.

We travel with our dog (55 lbs), so we always look for a dog-friendly lodging. I can’t think of any better place to stay with a dog in the area! I contacted the Inn before making reservation to make sure we can get a dog-friendly room. The innkeeper got back to me promptly. There is a pet fee, which we could pay on site. This historic house is well-kept, and large common area has everything we need and beyond: guest fridge, water server, glasses and mugs, snacks (even cup noodle), amenities, board games, etc. Our room was spacious and very tidy, and there were slippers, bath robes, and even a water bowl and dog treats! In addition to the room we stayed, our dog was allowed to be around the common areas (must be on leash). There is a big park in front, so plenty of space to walk a dog. They have a fenced yard too. The innkeeper, Sara was very helpful and friendly. She responded to my texts very promptly. We will absolutely come back if/when we get a chance to be in the area again!

We stayed here for just a night while visiting Bates. The Inn has such great character and I wished we had longer to stay to get to enjoy the cozy common areas with board games, etc. We arrived late and Billie was kind enough to wait for us and give us a quick intro. It felt like we were staying with friends/ family rather than at a hotel, which is what I was hoping for. The room was very comfortable and the Inn was peaceful. The pantry has tea, coffee, a few breakfast items for early risers and then we walked a few minutes to Forage Market for breakfast (amazing wood fired bagels). I would definitely stay here again and recommend!

This place is very cool. It is an old church rectory. The manager was fantastic. She accommodated us and our sweet dog by changing our rooms and giving us more space. They had everything you could need to stay a few nights. They offer extra pillows and blankets, bathrobes, slippers, shampoo, soap, conditioner, and a binder with local information on food and fun. They have a couple of common rooms, free food and drinks, games, puzzles, and an outside area for pets and people. They even had a welcome bag of dog treats for our baby. They clearly put in a lot of work and care about this space. I would recommend this space for a college student visiting with their families or a quick stop over traveling through. The only issue is that it seems that there are some unhoused in the area I believe due to some public outreach across the street. It got a little loud at night but nothing that couldn't be ignored. Also the parking lot was small on the side.

Adorable Inn only 6 minutes from Bates College. The bedroom is comfortable and large, and the entire house was decorated and equipped to make you feel cozy and happy. The kitchen has everything you need for a late snack or early coffee, as you wish. The owner lives there and is super nice and gives you privacy but also is always there if you need. 100% worth it!
